Congress and President Bush are hammering out the details of a economic stimulus package. Supporters of the measure see it as a way to jumpstart the sluggish economy. The centerpiece of the plan is the actual disbursement of checks to taxpayers. The checks could provide $1200 per couple and $300 for children.
The Senate is expected to make an attempt to provide an extension of unemployment benefits as well as an expanded Food Stamp program. Other additions to the bill are also being contemplated. If the measure survives the legislative hurdles before it, "The Check May Be In The Mail"
In these times of great economic uncertainity The President and Members Of Congress grudgingly recognize that the once heralded " economic ship of state" has holes in it's bow and is taking on water. The looming question is what can and must be done to plug the gap?

This issue is the biggest problem that AMERICA is facing! I'm a 30 year old man, and I'm going to feel the impact of Bush 2's choices for the rest of my life, but more important, my child is really going to be impacted by baby Bushs mismanagement. The cash rebates are using buble gum to plug cracks in a leaking ship.
The problem is so much larger than being advertised. First, I dont hear any politican talking about how the choices made at the federal level have effected each and every state. Then the states effect the local levels. Americans are just not paying attention to whats really going on!
Most americans dont understand that the federal goverment never has to balance there check book but the states do. People, look at your state, has state police and county police force been cut back? How has No child left behind effected your local school district? If your a home owner, has you property taxes increased over the last 10 years? What has your home state had to cut in order to balance there budget?
Back to the refund checks, this will be approved by our goverment. It will purchase some republican votes in Nov 08, it will also be a gift for some special instrest groups, and the best part is tax paying americans will have a check to make minium payments on there bills (credit cards, mortgages, insurance, taxes, ect.) and those who dont pay any bills will use it to go father into debt. Its the american way!
Our children and grandchildren are going to be stuck clean up our mess.
